Einstein provides a variety of fellowships for research, global health, and other enriching experiences listed below. Students may apply for fellowships or other programs that are not listed, but must be approved by Dr. Vagish Hemmige, vahemmig@montefiore.org.

Summer Scholarly Fellowship

~6 week mentored research projects conducted under the supervision of faculty at Einstein and other institutions with fellowship stipend of up to $2,500: $2000 at the start of the summer, and $500 after the summer ends and your mentor submits your final evaluation.
While there is no fixed deadline, your first paycheck will be received 4-6 weeks after your application is approved (i.e. you should submit by late April to have your first paycheck received in June.)

Finding a mentor

Many students will opt to use the same mentor and project for IMPACT as well as the Summer Scholarly Project. However, this is not required.
In order to have an application completed in time to avoid a delayed paycheck, students ideally should meet with and identify potential mentors in March. They can focus on refining their project in April. Many mentors are busy, and it may take several weeks to meet with all potential mentors.
