Einstein provides a variety of fellowships for research, scholarship, global health, and other enriching experiences listed below. Students may apply for fellowships or other programs that are not listed, but must be approved by Dr. Jessica Rieder, SIRP@einsteinmed.edu

Applications are accepted between March 15 and December 1 of the senior year.

Senior Scholarly/Research Fellowship

5 months of scholarship in a variety of areas of interest or research under supervision of faculty at Einstein or another institution.
Applicants must be in the process of completing or have already completed the clerkship year.
Applications are accepted between March 15 and December 1 of the senior year.
To apply for a 5-month Senior Scholarly/Research Fellowship (SSRF), please complete the following:
1. Complete the 5-month SSRF application ( includes project proposal and mentor letter.)
2. In application, students must select all 5 blocks, including a minimum of 3 consecutive blocks, while the remaining 2 blocks can be registered at any time.
3. Once the SSRF application is approved, students must send a copy of the completed special elective from to SIRP ( SIRP@einsteinmed.edu) for final signature.
4. To finalize registration, students must submit the signed special selective form and proposal to the Registrar's Office.
Students are notified of approval on a rolling basis. Retroactive fellowship applications (for research already conducted) will not be approved.
While SIRP does not fund activities through the Senior Scholarly/Research Fellowship, which is an activity for tuition credit, some mentors are able to provide a stipend independently:
